Jewellery Components
Crater Jewellery Design is proud of our work and we stand by our products. We realize
that there are many unscrupulous sellers, but we always strive for honesty. To the
best of our knowledge, the gems, minerals, beads, and pearls that we sell are pure
and authentic. Synthetic components are always marked as such.
You can shop from us with confidence.
When comparing us against our competitors, please be sure to compare the quality
of the components used to ensure a fair comparison. Many stores do not state the
quality or type of component used. This indicates they may use substitutions. For
example, they may use glass pearls instead of freshwater pearls or cultured pearls.
They may use czech crystals instead of Swarovski crystals, where czech crystals
are considerably lower priced than the Swarovski crystals which have a better quality
cut, finish and polish. They may also be using silver plated components instead
of sterling silver (also called .925 or 92.5%). These differences significantly
change the quality and therefore the price of the finished product.
On the following pages, you will find a brief description of many of the gems, crystals,
and stones that we use for our jewellery components. It is by no means exhaustive,
but it does give some background on where the unique jewellery started its existence!
